LES MIS CH 4

In chapter 4 it talks about the death of a man who is being charged for being a murder. It's the Bishop's chance to see both side of sides of the story and find compassion. The bishop seems to be against the death penalty and I think the author reflects to the opinion of the death penalty. I agree with the Bishop but why does it have to be controversial.
